Versus VPN
Organize your game library, compare measured paths and save weapon builds.
Versus VPN: Sign in and open Versus VPN
Open Versus VPN and choose Sign in with Versus. The app opens a browser approval page so your password stays in the browser sign in flow. A subscription or assigned VPN seat is required for the signed in workspace.
- Compare the code under Match this code in your browser with the browser page before approving.
- Approve the matching request, then return to VPN and wait for the signed-in workspace.
- Use Open sign-in page again if you closed the page, or Cancel to stop the request.
- Check the account name before using the workspace.
Saved builds and preferences remain local to this PC. Use the account controls for account changes and the app’s own recovery controls when the service is unavailable.
Link to this guideVersus VPN: Find a supported game or app
Open Games and use Find a game or app…, or press Ctrl K, to search the library. The library provides Game Library, Installed, and Favorites filters.
- Choose Update catalog to refresh the available catalog.
- Choose Scan installed to check the applications installed on this PC.
- Read each card’s state, such as Running, Process detected, or Not detected.
- Select a card to open its workspace.
- Use Add game/app for a custom entry, then remove it later with Remove from library if needed.
Custom entries are marked with compatibility information so you can distinguish them from catalog and installation results. The service also keeps the shared Call of Duty HQ installation separate from confirmation of an individual title.
Link to this guideVersus VPN: Choose a measured connection and save a profile
In a selected game workspace, open Connection and choose Choose your connection. Automatic uses the fastest stable measured exit available to the service. You can also choose a country or a listed measured route.
- Choose Refresh pings to measure available candidates.
- Review Automatic route and the route cards showing relay RTT, loss, and jitter.
- Select a route, routing mode, and any applicable game policy fields.
- Choose Save profile to store the selection locally.
A profile can record Adaptive path selection or Parallel path delivery, a country scope, a node choice, and Call of Duty policy fields. The measurement describes the exit relay path; it does not measure the game server. Review the connection status shown in the app before relying on a route.
Link to this guideVersus VPN: Compare direct and Versus paths
Use route comparison when you want to inspect the measured difference between a direct path and a Versus path. It uses the same configured test endpoint for both measurements, so the values can be compared under the same test conditions.
- Open the connection diagnostics area after a test endpoint is available.
- Choose Compare routes.
- Read the paired Direct and Via Versus round trip values, loss, medians, chart, and Measured difference.
- Choose Stop comparison when you have enough samples.
The service keeps a bounded sample set and treats a missing reply as a gap. This tool reports a diagnostic measurement only. It does not route your game or another application, and a favorable test result does not guarantee the same result on a game server.
Link to this guideVersus VPN: Browse and save Call of Duty loadouts
Open Loadouts and choose WZStats builds, Official builds, Community, or My saved builds. Search by weapon, build, or creator and filter by weapon category.
- Expand a result with View attachments and choose Save local copy when you want to keep it on this PC.
- In My saved builds, choose Create build.
- Select a catalog weapon or choose Use weapon.
- Enter Build name, choose Range, and set Attachment budget.
- Choose attachments, add optional Build notes, and select Save build.
Saved builds can be copied, edited, expanded, or deleted after the delete prompt. The service checks the title, weapon, attachment slots, duplicate slots, artwork path, and slot count before saving, and keeps up to 40 local loadouts.
Link to this guideVersus VPN: Check the library and route status
When a game or route is not ready, start with the status shown in the app instead of changing Windows networking settings. The connection card identifies the selected game, location, and route state, while Activity records service events.
- If the service status reports an error, choose Retry and read the resulting activity message.
- If a game is missing or its process is not detected, return to Games and choose Scan installed.
- If route values are stale, open Connection and choose Refresh pings, then review the measured route cards again.
- Use Compare routes to check the same test endpoint directly and through Versus.
- Keep the selected profile saved locally and use the account sign in flow again if a protected change requires an account.
Route measurements describe the configured test endpoint and relay path. They do not establish game server latency, change your NAT type, or make a game connection by themselves.
Link to this guideVersus Remap
Build controller mappings, save profiles and show your inputs on stream.
Versus Remap: Set up your controller
Start with the controller connected by USB and visible to Windows. Remap needs both a physical input and a virtual output: the physical controller supplies your actions, while the virtual controller sends the mapped result to your game.
- Open Remap and sign in to your Versus account. Check your product access if the account screen asks you to complete sign-in or review your plan.
- Select the connected controller in Remap. Use Input test in Physical mode to check that button presses and stick movement arrive.
- Open Settings → Virtual output and choose the output your game expects: PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 or Generic pad.
- Choose a profile and select Save & apply. Check the applied confirmation before testing in the game.
If physical input is missing, check the cable and Windows device connection first. If physical input works but the game does not respond, follow the mapping checks.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Create and organize profiles
A profile holds a complete mapping. Keep separate profiles for different games or input setups so you can change one without rebuilding the others.
- Open Profiles and select New profile, or choose an existing profile and use Duplicate to start from its settings.
- Use Rename to give the profile a recognizable name. Select the profile you want to edit before changing its controls.
- Adjust the mapping, then select Save & apply when you are ready to use it.
The profile page distinguishes Saved on this PC from Unsaved edits. Choosing a saved profile for editing is separate from sending it to the mapping service. For predictable switching, assign profiles to quick slots.
Use Export current to keep a backup before major changes. If loading fails, use Retry loading; do not delete the original file to clear the error.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Change what a button sends
A mapping connects a physical input to the virtual-controller action it should send. Make the change in your selected profile, then apply the profile to test it.
- Open Mappings and choose Gamepad, Keyboard or Mouse for the source you want to edit.
- Select a controller button or an existing keyboard or mouse mapping to open Edit mapping.
- Check Physical input, then choose the action under Virtual output.
- Select Save mapping to keep the edit, or Cancel to leave it unchanged.
- Select Save & apply to send the profile to the mapping service, then check Input test → Virtual.
Sticks and triggers retain analog behavior and are tuned under Dashboard → Tune. For a second action on a button, use Alternate controls. For a sequence, use Macros.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Apply a profile and use quick slots
Save & apply saves the current edits, assigns the profile to the selected quick slot and asks the mapping service to use it. A saved file alone is not confirmation that the mapping is running.
- Choose the profile you want to use.
- Select one of the four quick slots from the slot control. In Profiles, use the slot's Assign control to set its profile, or Clear to remove that shortcut.
- Select Save & apply and wait for Applied to Slot with the selected slot number.
- Open Input test, switch to Virtual and check the mapped result before returning to your game.
If the app reports a save error or that the mapping service is not running, resolve that message before continuing. Do not assume the new mapping replaced the old one. Keep the profile and retry after the reported problem is resolved.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Choose output and tune sticks, triggers and gyro
Choose the virtual output for the game, independently of the physical controller in your hands. PlayStation 4 provides DS4 output, Xbox 360 provides XInput output and Generic pad provides a DirectInput-compatible output.
Open Dashboard → Tune for analog settings. When tuning a stick, start with its deadzone, then adjust sensitivity or the response curve. Change one setting at a time and test it. Increasing the deadzone can prevent small idle movements from reaching the game, but it also reduces response near the center. Inversion reverses the selected axis.
Trigger tuning has separate deadzone and full-press thresholds. Keep the full-press threshold above the deadzone so the trigger retains a usable range.
Gyro uses motion readings from supported Sony controllers and can drive the left or right virtual stick. Choose its activation and sensitivity, then apply and test. A controller without motion sensors cannot supply gyro input. Use Input test to compare physical movement with the virtual result.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Give buttons alternate actions
Main controls contains your normal mapping. Alternate 1, Alternate 2 and Alternate 3 let selected buttons perform another action without replacing the whole profile.
- Select the alternate set you want to edit.
- Use Choose activation to select the button that activates that set.
- Choose While held to use the alternate actions only while holding the activation button, or Toggle on/off to switch with successive presses.
- Change only the buttons that need a second action. Unchanged controls inherit the main mapping.
- Select Save & apply, then test the activation and mapped buttons together.
With held activation, releasing the activation button returns to your main controls. With toggle activation, press it again. Use the alternate set's Reset control to clear its overrides if you want to rebuild that set.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Use mouse and keyboard capture safely
Mouse and keyboard mappings send supported inputs to a virtual controller. Before locking either physical input, set a reliable way to pause capture and return to normal desktop use.
- Open Settings → Mouse & keyboard capture.
- Review Pause / resume: one press pauses capture and another resumes it.
- Review Hold to unlock: physical input is available while you hold the key, and capture returns when you release it.
- Choose keys that do not conflict with important game actions. Check the displayed assignments rather than relying on another person's shortcuts.
- Enable Lock mouse or Lock keyboard only for the inputs you intend to capture, then select Save & apply.
Test both escape controls before playing. If mouse aiming feels too abrupt or slow, adjust Mouse aim settings a little at a time and apply again. Keep capture unlocked while editing or troubleshooting your profile.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Build a short macro
A Remap macro is an ordered sequence of virtual-controller presses and waits. Use short sequences you understand, and check the rules of the game or competition before using automation.
- Open Macros and select New or Create macro.
- Enter a Macro name that describes the action.
- Add the controller-button steps in the order they should play. Insert a pause where the game needs time between inputs; the editor includes + 50 ms pause and + 200 ms pause.
- Assign the macro in your profile's mapping, then select Save & apply.
- Test the sequence outside a live match and adjust the timing if necessary.
A profile supports up to 12 macros, each with up to 32 sequential steps. Use Clear in the step editor if you want to rebuild the selected sequence. A macro is a fixed sequence; it does not decide what to do from game events.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Import, review and back up a profile
Use profile files to move a mapping between PCs or keep a backup. Review imported controls before applying them, especially mouse locks, capture shortcuts, alternate controls and macros.
- Open Profiles → Import and select a supported JSON or Versus profile file.
- Review the imported mapping and its input type. A name collision creates a new copy instead of overwriting the existing profile.
- For an external profile that opens a review screen, choose whether to save it or apply it. Saving a copy leaves the current live mapping and slot unchanged.
- When ready, select the correct input and slot, then Save & apply.
Use Export current to save the current profile as JSON. Export saves pending edits first and stops if that save fails. A generated or shared profile is a starting point: inspect its bindings and test them rather than assuming it fits your controller, game settings or preferred sensitivity.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Show your controller inputs on stream
Remap includes a controller overlay that shows buttons, sticks and triggers in your broadcast scene. Use a Browser Source in OBS Studio, Streamlabs or another compatible broadcast app. Remap and the broadcast app must run on the same Windows PC.
- Sign in to Remap, connect your controller and apply a profile in Mappings. The live feed needs an active mapping, not just a connected controller.
- Open Stream overlay → Design. Under Live input source, choose Before mapping to show the physical input sampled by the mapping service, or Virtual controller output to show the mapped result.
- Select Copy source URL. This starts the local source and copies its private URL.
- In your broadcast app, add a Browser Source, paste the URL and set Width: 800 and Height: 480. In OBS, leave Local file off when using the URL.
- Position and resize the source in your scene. Press buttons and move both sticks while checking the scene preview before going live.
Add it through the OBS helper
As an alternative to copying the URL, choose Add to OBS in Remap. This opens a local setup page; it does not start a broadcast.
- In OBS Studio, open Tools → WebSocket Server Settings. Enable the server, keep authentication enabled and note the port and password.
- Enter that port and password in the local helper, then choose Connect to OBS. The default port is 4455.
- Select the intended scene and choose Add overlay to scene. The helper creates a new Browser Source without replacing existing sources or starting a stream or recording.
The OBS password is used for local authentication and is not saved or sent to Versus servers. If adding the source times out, inspect the scene before retrying so you do not add a duplicate. Streamlabs and other apps use the copied-URL setup above rather than the OBS-specific helper.
If the overlay is blank or disconnected
Keep Remap open and signed in, check that the source is running, and apply your profile again if the input feed is disconnected. Use Browser preview to separate a Remap source problem from a scene setup problem. The editor's Demo switch animates only the editor; it never supplies input to your stream.
Stop source, signing out or closing Remap stops the feed. After reopening Remap, start it again with Browser preview, Copy source URL or Add to OBS; the saved URL stays the same. If port 26741 is already in use, close the other overlay instance and retry.
Keep the private source URL out of public posts and screenshots. This is a local PC source, not a URL for a second streaming PC or a cloud service. Your broadcast app sends the scene to your streaming destination. See the OBS Browser Source guide for its source settings.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Customize and save your stream overlay
Open Stream overlay to edit the controller graphic. The editor and the Browser Source use the same design. Edits save locally, and a running source receives design changes without needing a new source in your scene.
- Under Design → Controller layout, choose DualSense, Xbox or Controls only. Changing layout resets control positions.
- Choose Symbols or ABXY labels. Adjust the pressed-control, shell, center/grip, button, outline and wordmark colors. Use Transparent background to place the graphic over your video, or choose a background color.
- Click a control on the canvas to open its Control settings. Drag to reposition it, use the arrow keys with the canvas focused, or enter its X/Y position. Adjust its size, custom label, pressed color and Visible on stream setting. Hidden controls remain selectable in the dropdown.
- Use Snap for stepped positioning, Undo to reverse recent edits, or Reset positions to restore positions while keeping appearance and visibility choices.
- Choose Export design to save a
.versusoverlayfile. Use Import design to load a saved or shared design.
The Versus mark stays visible; you can place it at the bottom left, center or right. Exported files contain design settings, not live input, account credentials or your private source URL. Share the design file instead of that URL.
The Demo switch lets you inspect movement and pressed colors inside the editor only. Turn it off to check your actual mapping feed. To put the design on stream, follow the Browser Source setup guide.
Link to this guideVersus Remap: Find why a mapping is not taking effect
Check the input, saved profile and virtual output separately. This shows where the problem starts without changing several settings at once.
- In Input test → Physical, confirm that Remap receives your controller. If not, reconnect it and check the Windows device connection.
- Confirm the profile, selected physical device and quick slot are the ones you intended.
- Select Save & apply. Read any error instead of treating a saved profile as applied.
- Check Input test → Virtual. If the mapping works there, review the game's controller selection and the virtual output chosen in Remap.
- If inputs appear twice, check whether another controller-mapping app is also running before changing device or capture settings.
For support, include your controller model, USB connection, virtual output, selected slot, the exact error and whether Physical and Virtual tests respond. Share a screenshot or an exported profile if relevant; never include your password or account tokens.
Link to this guideVersus Mate

Use Skip for now to leave setup and reopen it later from Getting started.
Link to this guideVersus Mate: Connect voice and talk to Mate
After setup, the Your Mate console shows the current voice state and your selected personality and voice. Voice needs both the Microphone and Hosted model voice permissions, plus a saved provider key.
- Choose Connect voice and wait for the connection state to change.
- Hold Hold to talk, speak your request, and release to send it. Space or Enter can operate the same control from the keyboard.
- Choose Cancel if you want to discard the current request.
- Optionally enable Hi Mate in voice settings. The local wake state shows Ready for Hi Mate; wait for Listening before speaking.
Use Disconnect voice when you want to end the voice connection. Voice commands and permitted app context are sent to the connected voice provider. Provider usage is charged separately. Mate does not save raw microphone recordings; current transcripts remain only in the active view.
Link to this guideVersus Mate: Adjust app audio and media playback
Open Application audio to see the Windows audio sessions that are active on this PC. Each row shows an application, device, activity, volume, and mute state. Audio control must be enabled in Trust Center.
- Choose Refresh audio sessions after starting sound in a game, browser, or music app.
- Use Filter applications… when several sessions are listed.
- Move an application slider and choose Set to apply the new volume, or choose Mute/Unmute.
- Open Action history and choose Undo for an eligible verified change.
System output controls the overall Windows output. Media playback covers players that publish a Windows media session, with play, pause, next, and previous. A recovery action can expire when the target changes.
Link to this guideVersus Mate: Connect Chrome and read a page
Mate uses the Versus Mate Browser companion in Chrome while your game stays in front. Open Integrations or Browser, then choose Set up Chrome. Your Chrome account remains in Chrome; Mate does not ask for a browser password.
- Choose Open Chrome extensions after the companion files are prepared.
- For a first install, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder shown by Open companion folder.
- In the intended Chrome profile, enable Versus Mate Browser and press its Reload control.

- For a saved moment, choose Save a replay, select a Replay length, and choose Save replay.
- For a label, choose Mark a moment, select its Moment kind, and choose Mark this moment.
Saving needs buffered footage. A marker only tags the current buffer, so save the replay before that buffer expires.
Link to this guideVersus Mate: Save gaming memory and reminders locally
Memory stores only what you explicitly save on this PC. Choose New memory, enter a title and note, select a category, and choose Save memory. A fixes entry also requires I tested this fix and confirm it worked.
- Use Search with a note, game, or fix phrase.
- Use Categories & retention to enable categories and choose how long new entries remain.
- Select an entry and choose Delete entry when it should be removed.
- In Reminders, enter the reminder text, choose When, fill any minutes or game value, and choose Add reminder.
- Read Your queue for due reminders; recording, game, and after match triggers require their matching access.
Memory defaults to 90 days; zero retention keeps new entries until deletion. Reminder data is account scoped on this PC.
Link to this guideVersus Mate: Choose access and recover safely
Use Trust Center to turn each access area on or off. Clipper access is split into Clipper connection status, Clipper replay saving, Clipper capture control, Clipper moment markers, and Clipper voice access. Browser, audio, memory, reminders, diagnostics, and overlay access are separate choices.
- When an integration is paused, choose its Review access or Review … access control.
- Open Action history to read verified, failed, pending, or uncertain results.
- If a save, marker, or capture result is uncertain, choose its status check before trying another action.
- Choose Clear completed history only when you no longer need the visible completed log.
Mate protects settings and provider credentials with Windows account protection. It does not read game memory, inject into games, automate gameplay, or save raw microphone recordings.
Link to this guideVersus Aim
Train with drills, routines and bot matches, then review your results.
Versus Aim: Sign in and start Versus Aim
Open Versus Aim and choose Sign in with Versus. The sign in page opens in your browser, where you sign in if needed and review the request. Your password is never entered in the Aim desktop app.
- Compare the code under Match this code in your browser with the browser page before approving.
- Approve the matching request, then return to Aim and wait for the signed-in workspace.
- Use Open sign-in page again if you closed the page, or Cancel to stop the request.
- Check the account name before using the workspace.
The status bar shows the signed in username. If the connection is interrupted, Aim keeps checking and reports that it is retrying.
For account recovery, follow the account security guide.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Choose and run an Aim drill
Open Train to browse the first party drills. Use the activity filters or Search activities to find a skill area. Each single drill runs for 20 seconds.
- Choose an activity such as Contact Flick, Micro Lane, Strafe Trace, Reactive Cutback, Entry Switch, Recoil Transfer, Burst Discipline, Peek Confirm, Ring Control, or Radial Clear.
- Select Start 20s drill on the activity card.
- Review the preflight screen, including input, duration, performance target, and result destination.
- Select Start training, then click the game window before moving your mouse if Aim asks you to lock the cursor.
Ring Control is a controller activity. Aim shows whether the training game is ready; if the game is unavailable, follow the displayed error and try again.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Use a warm up or build a custom routine
Use Routines when you want several short exercises in one session. Filter the library with All, 30s, or 40s, select a routine, review its drill list, and choose Start routine. The available first party routines include Quick 30, Competitive 40, Mouse 30, Controller 30, and Recoil 30.
To make your own, open Create. Choose a scenario and a rep length of 10, 15, or 20 seconds, then select Add to routine. Keep two to six reps and a total of 90 seconds or less. You can remove a rep with Remove [drill], enter a routine name, and choose Save to keep the draft on this PC. Choose Start routine to save and launch it.
Routine scores stay in your run history and are not placed on a single drill leaderboard.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Set mouse, controller, and match options
Open Loadout for the profile you want to use next, or open Settings for the complete list. The settings categories are Performance, Mouse, Controller, Match, Audio, and Privacy.
- For mouse input, enter your mouse’s hardware DPI for the distance readout, then choose raw input, base sensitivity, horizontal and vertical scales, ADS sensitivity, and optional smoothing. The polling rate is saved as a profile value; it does not measure or change your mouse.
- For controller input, set look speed, ADS, curve, deadzones, shoulder layout, optional light aim assist, and vibration.
- For Freightlock matches, choose a loadout, optic, pace, map variant, health, armor, bot difficulty, equipment, time limit, and ending rule.
- Use Play sample under Audio to hear local feedback, then launch a session to apply the profile.
Use Reset input or Reset match when you want to restore that settings group to its defaults.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Play an unranked Freightlock bot match
In Train, choose Freightlock 2v2 or Freightlock 6v6. These are bot matches marked UNRANKED; their team results remain separate from single drill rankings.
- Open the preflight screen and select your combat loadout, optic, map, pace, and win condition.
- Choose Deploy · [loadout] to enter the match.
- Mouse controls are 1/2/3 for weapons, R to reload, F to pick up a nearby gun, E to knife, G for frag, and V for smoke. Left click fires and right click aims.
- On a controller, use the selected shoulder layout, Y/Triangle to swap, X/Square to pick up or reload, R3 to knife, and the left and right D-pad directions for frag and smoke.
- Hold Caps Lock or the controller View/Back button to inspect the live scoreboard. Escape or Start/Options pauses.
Armor, health, respawn delay, weapon magazines, and bot difficulty follow the values shown in the match settings.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Review run history, Analytics, and Coach
After a session, open Analytics to inspect completed runs saved for your account on this PC. Use All runs, Single drills, Combat, MNK, or Controller to filter the list.
- Select a session in Run history to view its score, accuracy, input, rules, and available per drill measurements.
- Use Load older runs to read more history.
- Choose Open run files when you need the local evidence folder.
- Use the Comparable runs panel to see how many runs share the selected settings, sequence, duration, input, and scoring rules.
Open Coach for a rule based next drill recommendation from accepted completed runs. It shows the latest run, evidence count, confidence, and a Start [drill] action. Detailed replay events stay on this PC. If score delivery needs attention, use Retry score delivery; the saved run remains local while delivery retries.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Understand Aim benchmarks and leaderboards
Benchmarks tracks completion of four core disciplines: Contact Flick, Strafe Trace, Entry Switch, and Reactive Cutback. Choose MNK or Controller before starting them. Progress for the two input types never mixes.
Leaderboards lets you choose a drill, input partition, and scoring version. The current board is the connected preseason board; older board choices are read only archives. MNK scores use no aim assist. Controller scores may use light target slowdown. The two input partitions never share a ranking.
- Complete a single 20 second ranked drill while signed in.
- Wait for the completion notice or open Leaderboards.
- Choose the drill and input partition to view your personal best and place.
- If the board cannot load, select Retry leaderboard.
Routines and Freightlock matches can appear in history, but they do not enter single drill placements.
Link to this guideVersus Aim: Fix common Aim session and sync problems
If the game cannot start, read the message on the session screen and try Start training again. Aim checks that the installed training game matches the desktop app before reserving a run, so an older or missing training game needs a matching installation. Include the displayed error when contacting support; do not delete your run history.
If a controller is missing, reconnect it and select Check again. Aim can still offer launch after the shell check misses a controller, but Windows must expose the device for controller input.
If a result does not reach the board, select Retry score delivery and leave Aim open for its automatic retry. Your saved run stays on this PC. If settings show Settings applied, but not saved, select Retry saving settings; the current session continues using its current values.
For account issues, use the account sign in flow again rather than entering credentials into the app.

Capture replays, record sessions, edit videos and share selected clips.
Versus Clipper: Sign in and run the first clip check
Open Versus Clipper on Windows and choose Sign in with Versus. Continue in your browser, compare the displayed code with Clipper, and approve the matching request. The account connects shared clips and AI coin balance; capture and manual editing are available from the desktop app.
- In Getting started, choose Automatic game capture or Choose a source myself.
- Review Game and desktop audio and Microphone before beginning.
- Select Enable automatic capture or Start capture check, then wait for capture to begin.
- Choose Save a test clip, play it back, and select Looks and sounds right.
- Choose Adjust and test again if the source or sound needs changing.
Use the account control for Open shared library, Get coins, Manage account, or Sign out. Signing out stops capture but keeps local clips and edits.
Link to this guideVersus Clipper: Start and stop the replay buffer
Clipper continuously replaces older footage in its replay buffer until you save a moment. The Capture page provides Capture source, Refresh capture sources, and Start capture or Stop capture.
- Choose a game, window, or display in Capture source.
- Choose Refresh capture sources if the source list is stale.
- Enable Game and desktop audio and/or Microphone in the capture setup or Settings.
- Choose Start capture and confirm that the recorder status is buffering.
- Choose Stop capture when you want to end the buffer.
In Getting started, Automatic game capture starts the buffer when an enabled game is foreground. Choose a source myself lets you select a source and start it when you want. Stop capture before changing a source.
Link to this guideVersus Clipper: Save a replay or screenshot
While capture is buffering, save the last part of the replay with the command bar or a global shortcut. The command bar button is labelled Save last N s, where N is your configured default clip length.
- Start capture and wait until at least a short buffer is available.
- Choose Save last N s, or use the configured clip shortcut from inside the game.
- Wait for the save confirmation and find the new video in Library.
- For a still frame, choose Take screenshot while capture is active.
Use Settings → Recording to set Default clip length and Replay buffer. The available clip lengths are 15, 30, 60, and 120 seconds, with the clip length limited by the buffer. A shorter buffer produces a shorter saved clip.
Link to this guideVersus Clipper: Find, organize, and restore clips

- Under Hotkeys, configure saving, screenshots, capture toggle, and microphone mute, or choose Restore default shortcuts.
- Review the library path and sizes under Storage.
- Choose Save changes to keep your settings, or Discard to abandon unsaved edits. For troubleshooting, Export diagnostics saves a separate local report.
Stop capture before changing buffer length, video format, or audio inputs. Automatic highlights are English HUD screen detection and may miss events or save false matches.
Link to this guideVersus Clipper: Share a clip and handle common problems
Choose Share on a video in the library or Share export after an editor export. Clipper uploads the selected local video to the connected Versus account and returns a viewing link. Shared links and thumbnails are stored in the website library; local recordings remain on this PC.
- Use a video that is in the active library, not a screenshot or Trash item.
- Keep Clipper open while the upload moves through its progress states.
- If you cancel, the local clip remains saved.
- If the recorder is disconnected, choose Reconnect and wait for the recorder status to return.
- If a preview is unavailable, choose Show in folder and verify the local file.
For a missing or interrupted session, use Recover session. If an export reports an error, the source clips remain safe and the project can be opened again. The account dialog also provides Refresh account balance for stale account information.

Set up EQ, game profiles, device controls and audio recovery.
Versus Audio: Sign in and recover audio safely
Open the Windows app and choose Sign in with Versus. The app opens a browser approval page and shows Match this code in your browser while it waits. Your password stays in the browser sign in flow.
- Return to Audio after approving the PC.
- Choose Open sign-in page again if the browser page was closed, or Cancel to stop the request.
- Use Your Versus account for account links, balance refresh, or Sign out.
- If you need to restore audio without signing in, expand Restore audio without signing in.
- Use Bypass Audio, Disconnect engine, Check loudness backup, or Restore loudness only for the recovery action you need.
Profiles and imported configurations stay on this PC. Audio does not spend coins. Keep the recovery surface available until your normal Windows playback is confirmed.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Install and connect Equalizer APO
Audio uses Equalizer APO to apply the selected profile to a Windows endpoint. Open Setup & recovery and follow the four displayed steps.
- Choose Official download, install Equalizer APO, and use its device selector to attach the playback output and any microphone you intend to process.
- Return to Audio and choose Select devices if you need to change the attached endpoints.
- Choose Connect engine and read the status: Engine not detected, Engine detected, or Configuration connected.
- Choose Open studio, enable the profile, and verify an audible change with a familiar sound.
- Use Bypass to compare the processed and unprocessed signal.
Audio backs up the existing configuration before writing its managed include. A connected configuration alone does not prove that the selected endpoint is processing audio, so verify what you hear and avoid stacking multiple effects without checking the result.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Choose a sound and tune the equalizer
In Sound studio, choose your playback device and select Headphones / headset, Earphones / IEMs, Speakers / soundbar, or Other audio device under What are you listening on?.
- Choose Balanced, Competitive, Immersive, or Night.
- Use Preset intensity to blend the curve toward the original mix.
- Under Shape the detail, adjust 31, 62, 125, 250, 500, 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k, and 16k Hz.
- Keep each band between -12 and +12 dB in 0.5 dB steps, or choose Flatten to reset to Custom.
- Use Advanced tuning for Profile name, Output trim, Stereo balance, microphone rumble removal, and mono front channels.
- Choose Save changes after reviewing the automatic headroom shown for boosts.
Versus Audio: Add game profiles and automatic switching
Open Game profiles when a game needs its own sound settings. Audio switches by the running executable filename, so this does not inject into the game or change game files.
- Choose Rescan games to refresh the detected launcher records.
- Use Find your game to filter the list.
- Choose Add profile for a detected title, or choose Add any game for a title you will identify yourself.
- Enter Game name and Executable name, then choose Tune profile to edit its sound.
- Turn on Switch automatically when you want matching rules to select the profile.
- Review Saved game rules, edit Executable filenames, separated by commas, choose Tune, or remove a rule.
Matching is case insensitive. If automatic switching is off or no filename matches, the base profile remains active. Audio supports up to 100 saved game profiles.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Enable, bypass, save, and restore audio
The Sound studio signal strip shows whether Audio is ready. It can show Setup required, Connected · bypassed, or Profile applied · verify sound.
- Choose Enable audio only after the engine is connected and an output is selected.
- Choose Bypass when you want to stop processing while keeping the saved profile.
- Use Discard to restore the last saved editor values, or choose Save changes to write the draft.
- In Setup & recovery, choose Export saved profiles to make a portable tuning file.
- Choose Import to review an imported profile as an unsaved draft.
- Choose Disconnect & restore to bypass Audio and restore the previous Equalizer APO configuration.
Imported files clear device and processing selections for review. If Audio detects an external configuration change, it preserves the conflict for review instead of overwriting it.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Check playback and microphone devices
Open Devices to review the Windows endpoints Audio can use. Selecting an output tells Versus where to apply its EQ; it does not change the Windows default device.
- Choose Refresh devices if the list is stale or empty.
- Under Check left and right, choose Left, Right, or Mono / Stereo to play a short test tone.
- Adjust Windows device volume for the selected endpoint, then choose Open Windows sound settings for system controls.
- Under Microphone, choose No microphone processing or an input device.
- Enable Remove microphone rumble when needed; the microphone must also be attached in Equalizer APO.
- Check that the game uses the same output selected in Audio.
Exclusive mode and ASIO can bypass this processing path. If the right channel is unavailable on a one channel device, use the enabled test option shown by the app.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Adjust application volume in the mixer
Use Application mixer for per application Windows volume. The mixer lists the application, its Windows playback device, and whether the session is Playing or Idle.
- Choose Refresh apps after starting a game or application.
- Search with Find an application and select the matching session.
- Move the session volume control and choose Set volume.
- Choose Mute or Unmute when you need to silence or restore that session.
- Refresh again if an application has closed or its session is no longer listed.
Mixer changes apply to the Windows audio session and remain after Versus Audio closes. They are separate from the EQ curves and game profiles in Sound studio, so changing a mixer slider does not rewrite a saved profile.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Apply headphone correction to an output
Headphone correction adds a selected filter set to the output profile. Select an output first, then open Headphone correction.
- Choose Load catalogue.
- Search with at least two characters under Headphone model or measurement source.
- Select a result, choose Preview, and inspect the filter table.
- Choose Assign to selected output to stage the correction.
- Alternatively choose Import EQ file and select a ParametricEQ.txt file.
- Review the profile and choose Save changes.
The imported parser accepts AutoEq style peak, low shelf, and high shelf filters. Match the exact headphone model and listening mode before assigning a result. Catalogue entries are starting points from published measurements; they are not an individual measurement or certification.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Apply or restore Windows loudness
Use Loudness when you want to inspect the Windows Loudness Equalization setting for the selected playback device. Audio changes recognized Windows properties and does not install an effect or driver.
- Choose Check device.
- If the endpoint exposes the compatible setting, choose Loudness equalization.
- Select a Release setting from 2 through 7.
- Choose Apply Windows loudness and read the result.
- Choose Restore previous settings to reverse the journaled change, or choose Windows sound settings for the Windows control panel.
Availability depends on the selected endpoint and the properties Windows reports. If another application changes the setting, Audio preserves the conflict instead of overwriting the newer value. Check the device again before applying another change.
Link to this guideVersus Audio: Import and export community configurations
Use Community configs to review a configuration file before combining it with your local profiles. The file can include tuning and selected game profiles while leaving your existing profiles available.
- Choose Open config file and read the creator notes and imported EQ.
- Optionally choose Use … as my base profile.
- Select individual entries under Game profiles to add.
- Choose Add selected to draft and review the resulting unsaved draft.
- To share your own settings, enter Config title, optional Creator name, and Notes for other players.
- Choose Export community config and review the file before sharing it.
The versioned format excludes device identifiers and Windows volume settings. Imported profiles clear device and processing selections until you review and save them, so check the output and game rules before enabling the draft.

Inspect your PC, review Windows changes and restore saved settings.
Versus Boost: Connect your account and complete first run
Open Versus Boost on Windows and connect your Versus account from the account control. The workspace requires a verified account for its protected actions. The account panel shows your username, connection state, shared coin balance, and account links.
- On the first run, read Getting started to see how scanning, measurement, and recovery work.
- Choose Show me around for the guided tour, or choose Explore my PC to continue to the workspace.
- If you are not connected, choose Connect my Versus account in the account area.
- Use Refresh account if the connection status is stale.
Boost keeps scans and recovery records on this PC. Browser previews cannot read Windows hardware or use Windows tools.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Scan your PC and read hardware facts
From Overview, select Scan PC. Boost reads Windows reported hardware, displays, power, storage, drivers, and startup information. Scanning does not change Windows settings.
- Wait for the scan notice to show its duration and hardware sections.
- Read the Overview cards for processor, memory, graphics models, storage, power, and live activity.
- Use Pause live readings if you want the dashboard to stop collecting samples; select Resume live readings to continue.
- Use Hardware to search hardware or drivers and filter by provider section.
Each hardware fact shows its source and observation details. Provider errors and unavailable readings remain visible. Boost does not infer temperatures, memory channels, XMP/EXPO, firmware settings, connection speed, ping, or game performance from a hardware scan.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Review and apply a Safe Boost control
Open Safe Boost and select Find improvements when you want a short list based on a fresh local check. The check reads the PC and available controls, then separates recommendations, already configured controls, optional controls, and unavailable readings.
- Read the current state, proposed state, evidence, and warning for each item.
- Use Review in Windows when the item is a Windows setting that Boost does not manage.
- For a Boost managed item, choose its review action and read the tradeoff.
- Select Confirm apply only when you accept the change.
- Use the category tabs—Performance, Graphics, Network, Services & tasks, Windows cleanup, Privacy, Repairs, or All controls—to narrow the list.
Nothing is changed during the check or before confirmation. A setting that is available to review is not automatically a recommendation.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Restore saved originals safely
Open History & Restore to inspect Your changes & saved originals. Boost keeps user preferences, machine controls, and per game settings as separate recovery records. The page surfaces pending work, conflicts, and records needing attention first.
- Find the control and read its current state and warning.
- Select Review restore.
- Confirm that the saved original still matches the reviewed state, then select Confirm restore.
- Wait for Boost to read the setting back and show verified recovery.
If another application changed the setting, the token or current value no longer matches, or another saved power change depends on it, Boost stops and keeps the original record. Restore returns the saved original, not generic Windows defaults. Restore stacked power changes newest first.
Use Refresh recovery after an interrupted action or an external change.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Inspect a per game graphics preference
Use Per-game controls when a preference should apply to one game. Enter the full path to the actual game .exe, not its launcher or a shortcut. Boost reads the preference; it never launches or modifies the executable.
- Paste the path into Game executable path.
- Select Read game preferences.
- Review the current value, proposed value, and warning for each listed control.
- Choose Review game change, then Confirm game change if the tradeoff is acceptable.
- Restart the game when the warning requests it.
The supported per game controls are Prefer high-performance GPU and Disable fullscreen optimizations for this game. Use Restore game preference to return a saved original. If the game or preference changed outside Boost, reread it before trying again.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Run a Windows repair tool
Open Repairs only when you are investigating a specific Windows problem. These are Microsoft diagnostic or repair commands, not reversible preference changes.
- Read the tool description and warning.
- Select Review and run.
- Read the confirmation text, then choose Confirm and request administrator approval.
- Keep Boost open while the job reports its step, message, executable, and exit code.
- If Windows reports restart-required, restart Windows yourself before continuing.
Boost does not reboot automatically or terminate processes. A nonzero exit code stops later steps. DISM and system file checks write their normal Windows logs, including Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log and Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Winsock reset and DNS cache flush do not prove that a network problem is fixed and have no Boost undo.
Versus Boost: Import and compare PresentMon captures
Boost imports captures; it does not record gameplay automatically. Use a warmed up, repeatable game scene and the official PresentMon console collector, then open Benchmarks.
- Choose Before changes (baseline) and complete every condition field: game, build, scene, resolution, graphics settings, driver, power source, and capture setup.
- Select Choose CSV and import and pick the capture.
- Apply one reviewed change, restart the game if requested, and capture the same scene again.
- Import it as After changes, then select both runs under Compare runs.
- For normal variation, open Compare repeated runs & normal variation and select at least three before and three after captures.
Boost reports average FPS, 1% and 0.1% lows, frame time percentiles, and stutters. It refuses mismatched conditions or capture durations and labels the result as an observed difference. One pair is not proof that Boost caused a change.
Link to this guideVersus Boost: Handle scan, recovery, and diagnostics problems
If a scan or provider fails, select Scan PC again and read the provider message. Missing data is shown as unavailable rather than zero. If a control fails, refresh its state before attempting another apply or restore.
If recovery needs attention, open History & Restore, read the conflict, and preserve the saved original. An external change or interrupted action can block a restore so Boost does not overwrite it. Use Refresh recovery after the underlying state is settled.
In Support, select Preview diagnostics to inspect the local report before choosing Save JSON. The reviewed export contains app and Windows information plus recovery outcomes; it excludes account tokens, personal filenames, usernames, hardware serials, and startup lists, and is saved locally.
For no sign in restoration, open Emergency restore without signing in, run the supplied recovery program’s help and originals commands, review the exact saved state, and restore stacked power changes newest first. Windows system file repairs have no Boost undo.
Account & support
Manage sign-in, app connections, your profile and support conversations.
Account & support: Create an account and verify your email
Your Versus account connects your website profile and supported desktop apps. Use an email address you can access so you can verify ownership and recover the account.
- Open My dashboard and choose account creation. Enter your email, a unique username, password and matching confirmation.
- Use 3–32 letters, numbers or underscores for the username. The password form explains its requirements.
- Open the verification message and follow its link. If you return to a confirmation prompt, select Confirm email address.
- Check Settings → Security → Email address for the Verified status.
If the message is missing, check the entered address and your spam folder, then use Send verification email from Security or the dashboard's resend control. Sign in with your email or username and password; Google sign-in is also available. Changing your public username later does not change your email or Google sign-in.
Link to this guideAccount & support: Secure your account and unlock a session
Open Settings → Security to manage email verification, passkeys and browser sessions. If account tools are locked, the security notice explains which check remains.
- Complete email verification if requested.
- To register a passkey, select Add passkey, enter a recognizable name and provide your current password if asked.
- Select Create passkey and complete the prompt with Windows Hello, your phone or a security key. Adding a key signs out other browser sessions.
- When asked to unlock a later session, select Confirm with passkey and use a registered key.
Staff accounts require a verified email and a passkey. Keep a second device or security key as a backup. Fingerprint, face and device PIN checks remain on your device.
Use Reset password if you have forgotten your password. To end other website sign-ins, use Sign out other browsers; desktop-app connections are managed separately.
Link to this guideAccount & support: Connect or disconnect a desktop app
Desktop apps use a browser approval step to connect to your Versus account. Start that step from the app you opened yourself, and check the product and code before approving it.
- In the desktop app, select Sign in with Versus or open its account sign-in control.
- Continue in the browser. Sign in to the intended account and compare the approval code with the code shown in the desktop app.
- Approve the matching request, then return to the app and wait for its account state to update.
- If the page was closed, use Open sign-in page again where offered. Cancel and restart pairing if the code has expired.
Do not approve a request you did not start. In Settings → Security → Connected desktop apps, disconnect lost or unused connections. The app will need approval again; disconnecting does not erase its saved local files. Manage Remap machine seats under Products → Seats & devices.
Link to this guideAccount & support: Change your username or profile picture
Open Settings → Profile to change how your account appears in discussions and chat.
- Under Your username, enter a unique name with 3–32 letters, numbers or underscores.
- Select Save username. The dashboard reloads to refresh your account identity; your email and Google sign-in stay unchanged.
- Under Your public profile, choose a profile image. PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF are supported. Select a photo up to 12 MB, then review its crop.
- Complete the crop and save your profile. Cropped photos become 512 × 512 still images.
HEIC support depends on the browser. If an iPhone photo cannot be decoded, export it as JPEG or PNG and choose that copy. Photos must be at least 48 pixels on each side and no more than 24 million pixels. Animated GIFs have separate size and frame limits shown beside the upload field.
Link to this guideAccount & support: Open a ticket and follow replies
Use a support ticket for a problem that needs someone to review your account or app behavior. Keeping follow-up information in the same ticket helps preserve the troubleshooting history.
- Open My dashboard → Support → Tickets and select New ticket.
- Name the product, explain what you were trying to do and describe what happened instead. Include the exact error and the steps that reproduce it.
- Add relevant screenshots or the app's diagnostics export after checking it for personal information.
- Return to Tickets to read replies and continue the existing conversation.
Useful details include your Windows version, controller or audio device where relevant, and whether the issue happens every time. For a purchase issue, identify the affected product and payment without sharing full card details.
Never send passwords, provider API keys, recovery codes, passkey information or browser tokens in a ticket. If a screenshot contains those details, redact them before uploading.
